| Cargill Ferrous holds as core values,
essential to our business and not to be compromised, ethics, safety, and
environmental management. Ethics: Cargill Ferrous will function as a good corporate citizen in every location where we are privileged to do business. All of Cargill Ferrous's business transactions will be the result of lawful and honest competition, and our business will be conducted in an ethical and moral manner. No employee will be asked or expected to compromise these standards. Safety: Cargill Ferrous will provide and maintain safe working conditions for all employees and follow operation practices that will result in safe working conditions and efficient operations. Environment: Cargill Ferrous is committed to the continual improvement of our Environmental Management System to prevent pollution, reduce waste, and protect the environment. We will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits and train and educate our employees in the areas necessary to achieve these ends. 1.1 Appropriation Request Approval In addition to the signatures required by the Cargill appropriations policy, all requests requiring Division Manager approval will be signed by the Division Environmental Manager, and all requests that require Cargill Ferrous Corporate approval will be signed by the senior corporate environmental manager, prior to commitment of funds by the Company. 1.2 Facility Environmental Manager Authority The Facility Environmental Manager will have the authority to shut down an operation, including the facility, in the event he/she determines that the operation poses a threat of noncompliance with environmental requirements. Operations would not resume until approval is received from the Facility Environmental Manager, the senior corporate environmental manager, or his designated representative. |
